Remote Diagnostics

The Remote Diagnostics function is primarily used to remotely collect and analyze diagnostic data from the Venue system. The Remote Diagnostics feature has two major components. There is an on-aircraft Gateway and the ground support Houston Data Center (HDC). The Gateway collects maintenance data files from the onboard Venue system LRUs and stores them in memory prior to an offload. The HDC consists of a set of servers that communicate to the Aircraft Gateway. The communication settings must first be configured in the Venue Tools Portal before a connection can be made. The on-aircraft gateway initiates communication with the HDC on the ground. This connection can be initiated with an automatic Weight On Wheels trigger or be initiated manually from the Venue maintenance GUI on the aircraft. After the connection is made between the aircraft gateway and the HDC, the data is transferred from the gateway to the HDC. The diagnostic data is stored on the HDC and is used for troubleshooting the Venue system. The data is accessible via internet with a maintenance computer by logging into the Venue Tools Portal. If power is lost, during the offload file transfer, the transfer will resume after power resumes and the gateway reconnects with the HDC.
